Assistive Technology is any item, piece of equipment, or product system, whether acquired commercially off the shelf, modified, or customized, that is used to increase, maintain, or improve functional capabilities of individuals.

It is the policy of Davidson Homes, Inc. to provide for special technology devices and software as needed to support Davidson Homes in it's mission.   Areas of concern would be the need for larger than standard monitors, dual monitors, special input devices, special software such as speech recognition software as needed for enhanced the individual's ability to process and receive information..  Training for the use of special assistive technology devices is also considered and provided on approval.   Assistive technology requests may be presented to an individual's supervisor or program director or qualified professional  and  will be reviewed by the respective budget committee and immediate needs may be approved by the governing body.  Assistive technology forms are available on location or may be requested from an individual's supervisor or program director or qualified professional.
